The Book of Nightmares tells the story of young 'Sophia'. She is a little girl that has been tormented by horrible nightmares her entire life. Her Grandfather gives her a special book that has been handed down from genration to generation. It's an enchanted book that allows its owner to write out the nightmares they are having within its pages and the book will bind them for all eternity. But what Sophia doesn't know is that they can also be released as well. So one night when her sister takes the book to a friend's house and reads from it, Sophia's worst nightmare of all is set free...The Ghoul. And he's out to seek vengeance on the one who bound him to his prison within the book. Can Sophia, her sister and their friends escape the clutches of the Ghoul and his legions?

The story was written by Director Rick Danford when he was discussing how to bring some attention to some gifted young students at a local acting class led by his friend Paris Nicole Williams. After attending a performance by the group Rick finalized the story concept and started putting the wheels in motion to bring the film to life. The Book of Nightmares short film deals with one particular nightmare within the pages of this enchanted book, but those pages are littered with all kinds of creatures, ghosts and many other forms of terrors that have been locked in there by children from generations before. So if one managed to be released, just how safe are the other nightmares?
